WELCOME
Elies Moncholí Cerveró
Dear horn players, students, conservatory and orchestra faculty,
From the horn department of the Superior Conservatory of Music of Castelló (CSMC), we want to give you the warmest welcome to the International Horn Congress in the city of Castelló, which will take place from May 3rd to 5th, 2024.
Following the success of the International Horn Congress held at the Royal Superior Conservatory of Music of Madrid in 2016, citmadrid2016, and later in Zaragoza in 2017, citzaragoza2017, the Spanish Association of Horn Lovers and the Association Look what a horn, together with the horn faculty of the CSMC, are organizing this event with the desire to share not only a few days of learning and enjoyment with the horn ("Docere et delectare"), but also a few hours of brotherhood, relaxation, and friendship.
We have organized a lot of activities for horn players of all ages and conditions, including classes, concerts, competitions, talks, workshops, conferences, book and CD presentations, exhibitions of the most important horn brands, yoga and body awareness, postural hygiene, horn player psychology, chamber music, jazz horn, natural and baroque horn, alpine horn, activities for students of Elementary and Professional Education, Festival of Ensembles of Superior and Professional Conservatories, Gala Concert with horn players of the highest international prestige, etc., etc.
We have prepared it with all humility but also with all the enthusiasm and esteem towards our instrument, therefore we have included the different aspects of horn and musical knowledge: pedagogy, performance, research, lutherie, stage, composition, art, aesthetics, history, etc.
We want to thank the management team of the Superior Conservatory of Music of Castelló, led by its director, the trumpeter Vicent Campos, for allowing us to carry out this event and for helping us so generously in its organization.
We also want to thank the horn students of this conservatory who will participate in the organization and will ensure at all times that everyone is comfortable.
For those of you coming from afar, besides enjoying the congress, you will have the opportunity (if you stay an extra day) to discover the wonders of this land: the city of Castelló and Valencia, with symphony concerts, opera, theater, jazz, cinema, art exhibitions, architecture, historical monuments, etc..., the northern regions, with villages as beautiful as Peñíscola, Morella, or Sant Mateu, sea and mountain of spectacular beauty, gastronomy with the best rice dishes in the world, and especially the hospitality of friendly and open people who will make you feel at home.
Dear horn players of all ages and conditions, welcome to citcastelló2024!
A big hug!
